Student Startup Madness Collaborates with Women 2.0 to Encourage Female Entrepreneurs

SYRACUSE, N.Y., November 1, 2016 – In an effort to continue the development of young entrepreneurs, Women 2.0, the leading media brand for women in tech, is collaborating with Student Startup Madness (SSM), a collegiate startup competition to expand outreach and give a voice to the next generation of innovators.

For the past 10 years, Women 2.0 has made its mission to impact gender equality in the tech field. Its action-oriented approach directly addresses the pipeline from all angles including hiring, founding, investing and leading.

“Since our founding in 2011 we have applications from hundreds of amazing startups from colleges all over the country every year. The competition is tough, but the competition is both a point of pride, and evidence of a changing society in that I can say every single year we have had young women founders in the finals at South by Southwest. We are proud to have Women 2.0 as our partner, and hope to help raise awareness and encourage even more applications from young women with digital startups,” said Sean Branagan, founder of SSM.

The goal of SSM is to give collegiate startups the opportunity to share their ideas on a national scale, compete for funding and hear from real success stories at South by Southwest Interactive. Along with its partnering publication Student Startup Beat, SSM provides aspiring entrepreneurs with resources, connections and publicity to help expand and develop their vision.

Over the coming months, expect some unique cross-collaborative content from these progressive organizations. The future of tech and entrepreneurship is here so stay tuned for more from these leading influencers.
